Andre Griggs: Our Visionary Leader
Our founder, Andre Griggs, a native of Portland, Oregon, holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology/Corrections and a Master's in Education, with a specialization in Alcohol, and Drug Prevention. Beyond his academic achievements, our founder has dedicated himself to impactful missionary work across the Philippines and Africa, touching the lives of countless youth and adults with his insights and leadership. His journey into mentorship and advocacy began with the development of a unique mentoring program, embracing restorative practices to foster positive change.
Our Emergence
In 2011, our founder took his commitment to the next level by creating an innovative prevention, leadership, and intervention curriculum designed for peer advocacy. This curriculum laid the groundwork for the Restorative Justice League, a revolutionary concept piloted in 2012/13.
Bringing Students Together
The league brought together a panel/circle team of 12 students, providing a safe space for them to share their voices, views, and opinions without fear of judgment or shame. The initiative has since evolved into the Restorative Justice League Conference, a transformative event that has equipped thousands of middle school, high school, and college-aged youth with panel and circle practices, among other positive alternative activities.
Peace-Making in Action
Andre believes deeply in the power of peace-making as a process of forgiveness, restoration, and justice. His vision for the Restorative Justice League is to continue guiding individuals on this path, creating a world where constructive dialog and understanding prevail.
